KUWAIT CITY, Sept 19: The Criminal Court sentenced a Kuwaiti ex-convict to ten-year imprisonment with hard labor for molesting an expatriate woman and stealing her mobile phone inside the elevator of the building where she stays. The Public Prosecution had pressed the charges against the citizen, taking note that he was previously convicted on similar charges and a final verdict had been passed to imprison him for five years with hard labor.
According to the case file, the building caretaker (haris) received a distress call from the victim who was screaming “Don’t touch me”. He immediately came out of his room to check out what was wrong. As soon as he approached the elevator, he saw the suspect holding the victim’s hand, pulling her towards him and fondling her inappropriately.
