Detectives from Farwaniya Investigations Department succeeded in arresting a GCC national who is wanted by law for a five-year prison term followed by administrative deportation, reports Al-Anba daily. The convict was also wanted for the payment of a fine worth KD 5,000 on charges of smuggling and using drugs. He tried to mislead detectives by giving them a false identity other than his actual identity, as he knew he would be imprisoned, fined and deported if he revealed his actual identity. Security sources explained that Farwaniya securitymen were patrolling Abdullah Al-Mubarak area when they suspected a person and stopped him. He gave them a civil ID and securitymen checked his details, not finding any cases against him. However, when they noticed his nervousness, they checked his fingerprints and discovered his real identity, realizing that a judicial ruling was issued against him in 2012, which sentenced him to five-year imprisonment and imposed a fine of KD 5,000 over charges of customs evasion and drug abuse
